The gardens are free, you don't need to pay. There are benches, shades, and tropical flowering plants. The manorhouse is very well maintained and quite grand, with three floors of exhibits. It's not handicap accessible, stairs only. The content of the museum is of local interest only. The design of the house is perhaps more impressive than its exhibits, with various paintings of napoleon, queen victoria, and garibaldi. It covers customs of the city e.g. food, songs, and folksy stuff. 10 euros per person, or 15 euros for all museums of the city -- it's about fair. It took us about an hour, without reading the descriptions.

On holiday with friends so this museum was part of our museum pass, gardens are peaceful, I was sadly quite disappointed by the interior of the museum. Yes it is a beautiful palace in Nice and has some large piece of contemporary furniture of the time but almost ‘so what’?! All descriptions are in French and whilst I could use google translate, why? I just whizzed through and waited in the garden.

Beautifully presented museum on the history of Nice, the decorative arts, and plenty of Napoleon memorabilia! The beautiful building is right on the Promenade (and it has good toilets too).

Villa Masséna in Nice is a must! This museum is surrounded by a well kept garden that also has benches. Built in 1898, the villa became a museum some twenty plus years later. Now it showcases it architectural beauty on the ground floor - stately rooms that are beautifully decorated - and then provides a history of Nice and the Côte d’Azur on the upper floor. There are two entrances - one near the Promenade d’Anglais and another on the back side of the property. There is free WiFi and an online tour you can follow. Wonderful all around, inside and out. Highly recommend!

The museum has a small collection of posters and paintings. It's nice to take a few pictures of the interior of the villa. The outside garden is free to visit. I happened to visit here on a free admission day, but it might not be worth 10 euros.

This is a beautiful museum. The ground floor has an alcove, a library, larger-than-life portraits of prominent people, and a hall that runs a looping slide presentation about Nice and this building. Walking up the wonderful staircase, you will find the face mask of Napoleon at one end and the bicorne hat at the other. Several exhibits of Garibaldi and the proclamation of Nice's independence are in the enormous hallway. The rooms have a sizeable collection of statues and posters of carnivals from the city's olden days. When I visited, there was an awareness exhibition about the oceans on the uppermost floor. Outside the building is a beautiful garden with benches to relax. Total time taken: 45 mins.

Great place to immerse yourself in local history. A very nice building and gardens. If you like museums and art buy the pass. It allows entry to 8 venues for less than the price of two.

Beautiful villa that was commissioned by Victor Masséna, Prince of Essling and Duke of Rivoli, and grandson of one of Napoleon's famous generals. It was built around 1900 in a Neoclassical style with Belle Époque influences. The ground floor is still witness of that time. The first and second floor are dedicated to the history of Nice and the region with sometimes interesting items.
