Second half is tougher on the arms, but not a problem if you're reasonably fit and have down a couple VFs before. The 'souteratta' portion was quite novel and interesting, but poses little to no physical challenge (unless you count crawling on your knees through tight spaces). My favourite aspect of this VF was that it doubles as an open air museum, which metal sculptures and small notices in French and English describing the history of the caves, as well as bits of information about the local flora and fauna. Fun AND educational! Only downside is that it's relatively short (took me just under 90 minutes, as I was alone and went at my own pace), and has no zip line.
From the big parking lot follow the arrows down the road about 300m to the church. On its left is a route taking you to the ferrata entrance. Mostly easy route, not very exposed, but shaped interestingly with caves and pits along the way. I was able to speed through it in 45 min but the recommended time is 1h 20 min.
Excellent view above the town. Strenuous on the second part (with a cave to crawl!). But fortunately the footholds are very large, making the progression easy. High exposure, so be comfortable with heights. Self-guided tour is ok, track is very safe.
Very nice ferrata. The first part is definitely worth for everybody, beginners included. The second part is a bit more difficult, so you should be a bit more experienced climber. However both parts have nice views on the city of Cavaillon and a lot of bridges. And the bridges are the fun here. The second part also allows you to go (crawl...) through a tunnel and have some rest from the sun.
We did the Via Natura path of the Cavaillon Via Ferrata with a great guide, Lorraine Lenoir (Google her). Youngest was 11 and oldest 50, and we found it exciting and beautiful without being too strenuous. The teenagers would have preferred the harder route, but c'est la vie. It was a warm winter day - not sure I'd recommend it for a hot day.
Excellent via ferrata with amazing views throughout. Really well signposted and easily accessible. We both loved the excursion through the cave - a cool addition.
Mmm honestly I didn't like much...I have done better than this. But the town is beautiful ❤
Nice via ferrata. Second part is rated as difficult but is still okay. We did it on a warm morning and it faces entirely the sun so it can become very hot up there! View of the city is just amazing.
