Very disappointing experience for a small international seller My experience with Citeo has been very disappointing and, in my opinion, not customer-oriented at all. I am a very small online seller with only a limited amount of sales to France. Nevertheless, the minimum annual cost was around €80, which is already significant compared with the very small turnover generated in France. My previous contract was terminated because of unpaid invoices and/or missing declarations. When I later tried to regularise my situation and register again in order to comply with French EPR requirements, Citeo informed me that they would permanently refuse a new registration because of the previous contractual breach. What I find particularly unreasonable is that there appears to be no practical way for a small business to correct past mistakes, pay what is legitimately due, and become compliant again. Instead, I was simply told to look for an alternative EPR organisation. EPR compliance is already complicated and expensive for very small foreign sellers. An eco-organisation should help businesses become compliant rather than make compliance impossible because of previous administrative or payment issues. I would have preferred Citeo to offer a clear procedure to settle the outstanding obligations and restore compliance. Unfortunately, that option was not offered to me. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Citeo to small international marketplace sellers.
