In 1963, French architect and urban planner Louis Arretche created a park around the source of the Loiret, a tributary of the Loire River, just 11.6 km long. The main attraction of the 35-hectare park is its diverse gardens, of which the iris garden, with its approximately 900 varieties, is probably the most famous. It's wonderful to stroll through the shady park, and a visit there is especially colorful in spring!
A wonderful oasis of beauty!! It's worth spending a full day in the magnificent gardens and visiting the potager, the birds and the butterfly House, + many other surprises along the way. The château and the bridge over the river generously offer peaceful areas of contemplation. The little train helps children and elderly take advantage of all the beauty and great educational opportunities on offer. For me, the highlights were the chapel, the rose and dahlia gardens, and spending time in the sun around the stunning water fountain. A truly wonderful place. I hope to go back soon.
This park is absolutely lovely. You can spend hours in there discovering all sorts of flowers and trees. There are several play grounds and a butterfly house. There’s also an area with animals (chicken, bunnies, alpacas, donkeys,…), a little train that goes around the park, Minigolf and you can rent little carts to cycle through the park yourself. During the winter months it is only open for a couple of hours in the afternoon. If you plan on going more than once it’s worth getting a annual pass.
Large and Vast floral parc, in winter season the entrance is free., but you can't see the butterflies. I went 2 times to be able to visit it all! Some animals such as Squirrel and Greater Flamingos can be spotted. And many birds! Great place to bring kids. You also can have a picnic here.
Very beautiful park but relatively small. I took my time going through and looked at everything but still you only need like half a day fore the visit, wich is okay. There are many flowers but also many structures and green spots with trees where you can sit and enjoy the flowers. They have some bird cages but nothing really special or big. All in all an good park fore a visit
Lovely stop on our way south in France. We enjoyed our walk thru the gardens.
Perfect place to go with any group great potential for photographers as there are many animals roaming even flamingos and a butterfly 🦋 house
Very nice and beautiful garden, with a lot of possibilities, even for kids. When you are in this area it's worth to make a stop here and enjoy the flowers and quiet atmosphere. Last but not least is the beautiful butterfly area a feast for the eyes.
