The best degustation we have ever had (and we have had many!) My husband and I are originally from South Africa so it was very special to see the South African influence on the dishes and the creative twists on classic cuisine. We got the full menu with wine pairing. Wines were perfectly matched with the food and we discovered some new boutique producers in the process. Every dish was a delight, and the service was friendly and attentive. I cannot fault our experience here, it was truly worth every dollar / euro. Can’t wait to come back one day.

It is a special dining experience in JAN in Nice. We can feel the idea the chef would like to bring to us for each dish crosss over between French and South African influences, the wine pairing is also very good. The service and vibe are quite good and comfortable. Worth to visiting again!

I’m not sure the criteria of atmosphere is appropriate here but i have given 5 stars throughout because the evening was outstanding. Good food, good service and we added an exotic touch by being the only French guests last Thursday.

Great occasion getting some South African influences and tastes in our dishes! As couple spending some winters in SA, it was great to see the different signature ingredients/dishes of SA coming back in a culinary dinner ! Well done! Service was very friendly and a sommelier not pushing us in a certain direction. Ofcourse nice SA wine list which brought us straight back to SA as well. Everyone talks about the cheese room and have to admit it’s a very original concept, although it doesn’t give you any idea which one to choose from if you’re familiar with different sort of cheeses. As we also experience in a lot of SA restaurants, the AC is always a bit too cold ;-)!

Phenomenal experience! This would be my 2nd Michelin star restaurant I've been to in France and so far my favorite. From the moment i walked in was presented with the utmost kindness, despite my site seeing attire. My wife and I chose the classique menu, which consisted of 5 courses. Each course better than the one which proceeded it. For the final course we were escorted across the street to a bountiful cheese buffet with unique pairings. After the meal, we were pleasantly surprised with a desert, along with take home cookies and awesome book with chef inspired photos and articles. The whole experience was about 2 hrs, but well worth the time and money. I highly recommend this spot if youre in Nice.

Very good food, service and atmosphere. I felt like the cheese room took away from the experience, but I may be in the minority. One of the quicker Michelin star restaurants which was a welcomed delight (appox 3 hours).

My family and I visited the Jan restaurant once again. All the dishes still have excellent flavor. A luxurious selection of cheeses is presented at the specialty Maria cheese hall. The service meets high professional standards. Visiting with dogs is allowed. For my son, all the dishes were prepared in a vegan version.

This was, without a doubt, the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, every detail was flawless — the warm, attentive service, the beautifully curated ambience, and, most importantly, the food. Each course was a masterpiece, with flavour combinations and textures that surprised and delighted us throughout the evening. The presentation was impeccable, and the wine pairings elevated the dishes to another level. It’s clear that this is a kitchen where passion, precision, and creativity meet. Dining here is so much more than just a meal — it’s an experience, and one I’ll remember forever. Chef Jan and his team have created something truly world-class, and it made me incredibly proud to see a fellow South African making such an extraordinary mark in the culinary world. If you have the opportunity to dine here, don’t hesitate — it’s exceptional in every possible way.
