Disappointing. I guess when you see a place has 25000 reviews with and average of 4-5 stars you expect a certain experience. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who sat us right away with a friendly smile, we ordered our dishes excited for a traditional French experience. The escargot was enjoyed! The rest of the meals were subpar. The pork rack and potatoes were warm at best seemingly reheated and not fresh. The red wine sauce for the sausage was nice and the Pike Quenelles in a Creamy Shellfish Sauce was visually unappealing. What really disappointed us was the service. Our table waiter was nice, yet we had a miscommunication (understandable with language barriers) which could have been avoided with order clarification, and later communication regarding updates on any solutions. Other servers also reprimanded us for walking to the bathroom the wrong way, an honest mistake and yet worthy of a scalding? Maybe have clear signage of how you want people to navigate the ginormous room? The food just dumped on the table not a word said. On a better note, the food is fairly affordable, it comes out quick, and the portion sizes are reasonable.

Impressive size and efficiency The largest restaurant in France offering offal, sauerkraut, and a whole lot more. Go for the experience and a good if not amazing meal. The roasted marrow bone was delicious. The pork knuckle and sauerkraut were good but the knuckle was stewed not roasted as is more common. The calves head was tasty but quite sticky. Definitely worth the experience if not a regular visit.

Excellent variety of food and beverages, we tried a few things and overall it was very good. Service is amazing, the building is unique, decoration a time travel. I'm glad I could share this experience with my family the same way some great people around the world have. See the photos for yourself, if you're visiting Lyon, take the time to stop by la Brasserie George, it's a worth experience. We had soup, bonne marrow, porc, beef and une île flottante. A great time with great people.

Decent place overall. The dining hall is so big to host hundreds of guests. I waited 1 hour to get in and then another half an hour till I first started eating something. The food is decent, the foie gras, skate eing fish, and onion soup were all good. However, the service is too slow. I spent 1.5 hours to eat 3 dishes. And, it is not easy to get the attention of the waiters. Last but not least, the waiters don't speak English very well.

This place is legendary for a reason. The ambiance alone is enough to make it worth the visit. The food is delicious, with a large variaty of local specialties and French cuisine. Can get very busy, so come early!

What a wonderful place to eat. The beauty of the rooms is only surpassed by the fabulous food. Great service. The beef tartar prepared tableside is not to be missed.

Excellent service, great atmosphere and great value (in our opinion). Great snails, I’m not a huge fan but I actually really enjoyed them. My Quenelle was delicious and the steak tartare was a highlight, but everyone enjoyed their meals. We were a table of 6. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table, wasn’t a huge wait. Service was really top notch. I think all our waiters could speak English and were so welcoming, funny and friendly. And everyone loved their desserts. 100% a must do in Lyon if you’re visiting
