This was a five-minute easy walk from the main hotel. In fact, it was down a little offshoot from the main square, the Place de la Liberation which some might term as ground zero for Dijon. I didn’t quite realize what a great location it would be. We had a large room accessed by an elevator called “La Naturalle” while our friends were one floor up in a room called “La Loft.” Walk-in shower, with separate toilet area, OK toiletries, big bedroom area with two closets, a luggage rack and a table for a second luggage. There was an in-room coffee maker and a small fridge. Great lighting with a walk out patio. La Loft was a bit smaller than our room, lacked an outdoor area, but visually was very appealing and would also be comfortable for a long stay. For an adequate breakfast at the main hotel, we paid 13 euros each that first morning; the second we didn’t as we had a nibble at the train station. There was a small "Welcome Center" at the main hotel with water access and a coffee machine whenever you wanted. The Residence rooms were clean and housekeeping did their magic while we were out for the day. ||There is a free city shuttle that passed near the hotel (Theater stop) that included a stop at the train station. Dijon was fun to explore especially with the help of the "Owl Trail." Do purchase the 4 euro map/booklet from the nearby Tourist office and enjoy the walk.
We stayed here for one night with our dog. Very nice room (la naturelle) little courtyard. Indeed you need to check in at the hotel which is like 200m away, but this was well indicated when we booked. Room is very stylish well equipt. Location is very nice. Defitni yes. Parking is further away but as such nit an issue. (Like 600 meters)
Beautiful room in a great location. Very spacious, quiet and nicely decorated. It seemed like a studio apartment. Bathroom was wonderful with a great shower and a separate room for toilet. Complimentary water and Nespresso in the room. Room also had a sofa and chairs which made it easy to relax in the room. Windows opened into courtyard, so there was plenty of light. Minor drawback is there is no front desk...or anyone who looks after hotel guests. You check in at the restaurant bar which is a bit confusing!! We also found that when the restaurant was busy, there was no one to help if you had a problem. We had a problem with the safe and had to wait until the next day for help. Despite lack of front desk would highly recommend this charming hotel in a perfect location.
In the central, walking distance from train station. Check in has to be at the Hotel which is just around the corner. Breakfast was in the Hotel and unfortunately, no delivery to the Residence so have to walk in early morning in the drizzle. The apartment was clean and suitably cozy in the winter. Can hear the noise outside the apartment and raining sound as i stayed in La Loft which is the top level but it doesn't bother me.
So, this hotel belongs to Hotel des ducs, if you’re wondering why I’m telling you this it’s because when you press on the website for La Residence du Pre aux Clercs it will bring you to Hotel des ducs which will show you all the available rooms for both locations. As I did press on the hotel website listed for La Residence du Pre aux Clercs and the styles of the room varies I didn’t know what I was actually booking at Hotel des ducs... I parked at the wrong places I walked to Hotel des ducs because on La Residence du Pre aux Clercs building it tells you to go to Hotel des ducs. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ARE BOOKING. If you are trying to book La Residence du Pre aux Clercs you will be brought to a different hotel website and you must scroll all the way down to see if La Residence du Pre aux Clercs is available. Showed the staff that the booking is confusing and they were like well you booked it so it’s your fault. Yes I did book it but TRANSPARENCY WHEN BOOKING should be there and it wasn’t. So anyone trying to book this hotel, look very carefully because it is owned by hotel des ducs, you might get stuck in the wrong hotel.
We had a very small room that was suberbly presented and spotlessly clean. It is right in the heart of the fabulous city of Dijon. I would absolutely stay here again.
Great price, wonderful beds and nice and centrally located for hitting all the history in this city. Only downfall is parking, but street parking is free from 7 pm to 9 am
Very chic lift conversion above the restaurant. Beautiful design and great facilities. Quiet street right in the centre of town.
