Had a great stopover here. Staff were super friendly and accommodated our bikes inside. Drinks machine and microwave in reception which was a bonus. There is an Intermache just down the road. Room was a decent size. Everything you would expect from an Ibis Budget. Can’t fault it. I’d definitely recommend and I’d stay again.
Well located for a visit to INSA, very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Basic accommodation but was comfortable and good value for the price. Easy on-site parking.
The hotel itself is quite decent, had 2 bed and space just for 1 hand carry luggage. The location itself is not so good, however uber is available so no big deal.
No big expectations from a budget friendly hotel but could you simply do a better cleaning. Had some crumbs or whatever it is on all the beds. It’s probably when they change the bedding and throw it on a dirty floor for a while. Looks grouse. Same as the black hair on the walls and on towels. It’s so easy to fix! Weird smell in the room!!! Could be mold. Be aware that if there is an additional bed in a room or a bunk bed, you will have to make it on your own which is super uncomfortable. Also, there is not enough parking spots, you can see it on the pictures. If you arrive in the evening, be ready to park on the driveway. Breakfast - I don’t recommend the fruit salad
My stay was very mixed. I accidentally booked an accessible room on the ground floor, and while I understand why these rooms are there, the location felt very unsafe. My window was right at parking level, making it easy for someone to see in or break in. Three times during my first night, someone tried to open my door. I don’t know if it was the same person or different people, but they were clearly trying to get in. Luckily, I travel with a portable door lock, which stopped them. Without it, I would not have been safe. The next morning, I immediately told the staff what happened. They were kind and very proactive, switching me to a much safer room right by a stairwell and security camera. I was supposed to check back in at 7 PM, but my bus was delayed and I didn’t arrive until 10 PM. I really appreciated that care and effort, and they did not charge me extra even though the new room was slightly more expensive. However, I believe why my room was targeted is because of how check-in is handled. The night clerk said my room number out loud in a lobby full of people as well as writing it down. This is a major global hotel industry no-no, especially for women traveling alone. He essentially announced to the crowd that this exhausted tired woman all alone is staying in this room… I have worked in hotels, and I know there are differences in culture and countries, but I know this is a global standard. When I brought this up to the manager, he completely dismissed it, saying his staff “always say it out loud” and there’s no rule against it. This is very concerning and puts guests at risk. On my last morning, the manager checked the cameras and confirmed my original room was in a complete blind spot, and I saw that so were three other ground-floor rooms. There is no security camera coverage for those rooms. Anyone could rob or assault someone without being caught on video. Other notes: * Bedsheets were damp my first night, but fine on the other nights. * My Do Not Dist
I was drawn in by what seemed like a great special deal advertised via email. I entered my travel dates (a one-night stay) and booked a rate of €45 online. There was no clear indication that this was not an overnight rate. Only when I arrived at the hotel after a 6-hour motorcycle journey was I told that my reservation had been cancelled because the rate I had booked was actually a day use rate – without an overnight stay. Yes, somewhere deep in the fine print it stated that the room had to be vacated by 4:00 PM, but I (like many others, I imagine) understood this to mean 4 PM the next day, not the same day. This is misleading at best and feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. Exhausted and with little energy to search for another hotel, I had no choice but to book a standard rate on the spot, which cost me almost €100 including breakfast + extra for the parking garage – more than double the original price I expected. The room was acceptable, but for that price, I could have received a far better experience through loyalty programs with other hotel chains. To be clear: the receptionist in Lyon was polite and not to blame – she simply had to deliver the bad news. But the way this rate was marketed and handled feels deceptive, and I left feeling taken advantage of. I will not return to this hotel.
We stayed here for 3 nights. €53 per night, but we didn't take breakfast. €9 a day to park the car. What we got for our money was excellent value. Clean, comfortable, nice shower. It's 10 minutes walk to the nearest tram stop. 30 minutes to the heart of Lyon. You're not getting the Ritz. But you're not paying that price either. I would return tomorrow.
There’s basic and there’s basic! We booked this hotel as a last minute thing because of location to where we needed to be and unavailability at other hotels in the right area! The only room that was available was a triple room! If you don’t need that type of room don’t book it especially if you’re tall, as the second bed is sideways on over the top of the main bed and the room is so small if you have luggage on the floor there’s no room to move around for two people. |Nowhere to hang your clothes because the standard fixed hotel hanger (all 6 of them) fell out of their holders to the floor when clothing was hung them! |There was one bath towel and one face towel in the room, potentially between three people! |The day was a cold late September day and our room was cold. We tried to get the heating wording, however we were only getting more very cold air blowing into the room. When we asked at the desk if we could have some heating, we were told NO only the temperature of fresh air from outside. We were told that they have to get a special team to come into the hotel to turn on the heating!!|We were booked for two nights, however after one very uncomfortable night with no help from the staff we checked out, losing the second night that we had paid for. Not only that but we had booked two nights in the garage for our car, this was an extra, paid for on arrival not part of the standard room booking. The second night was not refunded when we checked out after one night. |Despite a complaint registered on the day that we were refused warmth, which to date is almost 2 weeks ago, we are still awaiting a response!
