Avis
Strikingly beautiful Roman Catholic neogothic church, set on the very top of Canebiere street that is dedicated to Saint Vincent, and made on ruins of demolished convent is also known under the name "Les Reformes". With two spires that dominate the surrounding area, statue of Joan the Arc infront of the church and statue of Jesus inside made by sculptor Louis Botinelly, beautiful bronze gates designed by Caras-Latour and the high altar designed by Jules Cantini is a true gem in the heart of the city. One of the most beautiful things that you can expirience here is the light that from the outside breaks threw the stained glass windows that are designed by Édouard Didron. Multiple organ pipes, that were made by Joseph Merklin are adding to magnificence of this church, so it's a must see place if you're visiting Marseille. For anyone who is familiar with the work and life of Saint Vincent, this place will be a true shrine to visit. Filled with peace and sanctity, it can be a great refuge from the city noise. The mass is held at 18:30, so if you're inclined to pray to the Lord, this would be a great place to start.
St Vincent de Paul Church in Marseille is a true gem in the heart of the city. Built in the mid-19th-century (between 1855 and 1886) in a striking Neo-Gothic style, its twin spires and intricate details make it a remarkable piece of architecture. Inside, there’s a calm and peaceful atmosphere — a refuge from the bustling city — perfect for reflection or simply resting in silence. The soaring arches, beautiful stained glass, and delicate sculptural elements all contribute to its timeless and majestic appeal. Whether you’re a history lover or just looking for a moment of peace, St Vincent de Paul is well worth a visit.
Very beautiful church! We visited before closing time and there were no tourists to see. The lighting was also very beautiful at this hour. Would recommend!
A very beautiful and an iconic édifice (church) to behold.
Probably my favourite church in Marseille. It has so many good angles due to it's position , any photographer would love it. The old gothic architecture and it's great interior, really makes it a great edifice of the city.
Beautiful church inside and outside. Near the front door the Jeanne d'Arc monument is located.
A must see in Marseille! I walked the avenue leading to the church from the harbor. A lovely walk.
If you are traveling to Marseille you cannot miss this wonderful church.
