Avis
This museum provided a suprisingly insightful and engaging look into the build up to WW1, with plenty of franco prussian era items and a flowing timeline throughout. Lots of incredibly preserved artifacts, weapons and personal items. The trench reconstruction whilst obviously limited in how realistic that can be is very well carried out with a great deal of information. Very impressive vehicles, tanks, artillery and aircraft in the main hall. There are also sections dealing with the grim murderous reality of this war very neutrally and well put together. Spent quite a few hours here and would recomend it, well worth the very reasonable ticket price.
Excellent museum with plenty of items, artefacts film from The Great War. Outside there’s a Trench Experience and there are sound effects. No trench replica can be authentic though this was excellent educationally. For English Speakers most displays have an English version. Also there’s an audio version which you can access via your phone (The museum offers WiFi ) - it would be worth bringing ear pods or headphones so you can listen uninterrupted and without disturbing others.
As someone who has visit a lot of Great War museums, there is no doubt that this is the best of them all. I was staying in Paris and got a train out to Meaux and then a taxi to the museum, its about 2km from the station. Honestly, this is a fantastic must visit museum.
I was vacationimg at disneyland Paris and saw this museum on Google maps. Lucky for me. A very well structured and informational museum with lots of displays.
Fantastic museum. Visited with 2 children aged 5 and 8. There is a little kids area with some colouring and a couple of activities. They particularly enjoyed experiencing the trenches outside. We're an English family with limited french. All of the exhibits were explained in French (quite rightly) but some of the main explanations were also translated into English and German. There is a kids trail around the museum and I noticed that there were some French activity books for different ages at the entrance. My only request (and this isn't a complaint at all) would be for the activity books to be in English/other languages too. Staff were lovely too. We really enjoyed this museum. Thank you.
Wonderful museum full of information in English and French. The displays were really well done and the reconstruction of a trench was a good immersive experience
An amazing visit, full of information in both English and German. There is a 1-1 replica of a trench which is full of detail, ticket prices are cheap, there is a small downstairs area to eat with an incredibly cheap vending machine, alongside a pizza and hot drinks machine. The roof terrace is also accessible with amazing views
Absolutely amazing experience. The museum has a wonderful collection. We took my 13 year old nephew and 6 year old son, both found it very interesting, and i must admit that even though i wasn't keen on going it even had me interested 😊 Tickets were a bargain too!
