Visited the hematology department for a consultation with a specialist. The staff could not have been more helpful. I am English and my French is not very good, however the receptionist and the specialist were both very patient with me and we managed to communicate well. I returned the following week for tests and blood work and again everybody was helpful and the whole process was conducted professionally and efficiently. I have nothing but praise for the service I received.
WORSE THAN TERRIBLE!! This place feels like a third world hospital!! I had to visit Bezier Hospital as my child had a severe fall at a holiday resort in Vias Plage. I drove here after resort management advised me and they named this place. Firstly, I have to say that the fact there are permanent security staff and national police stationed at this hospital should already ring alarm bells. In summary from my own experience, and from reading other tourists experiences on this review site - I come to the same conclusion; they are dismissive, negligent and potentially xenophobic. When you enter Accident and Emergency, you join a queue where you must wait behind a line to speak to a receptionist about what is wrong. It isn't noted whether the receptionist is a nurse or clinician, but either way, she was dismissive of what had happened to my child stating that it wasn't serious and at most their tooth would just fall out. I said my child couldn't close their jaw anymore and the receptionist just said a doctor wouldnt be able to do anything *shrug*. The receptionist used a security guard as the go between as I do not speak fluent French and the guard spoke almost fluent English. We left and went to a Dentist. Additionally: I saw multiple pregnant women just being left around the hospital in wheelchairs, this was utterly bizarre. I completely get that nationalised healthcare systems are suffering from a multitude of issues (I live in Britain) but this hospital seemed post-dystopian. A man walked in with a clear broken leg and was made to wait in the queue standing up like everyone else. I have to say I am SO pleased I never have to come here again and you should try not to either!! I looked at social media posts where the hospital is tagged, and I saw photos of what appears as bed wards but they are the size of a room in a house and they have 5-6 beds sandwiched in like sardines!!! OMG.
First time at a french hospital, lovely new building, the only positive thing about the experience, ripped upholstery on dirty wheelchairs, clinical staff refusing to put a red allergy wristband on my wife wrist as it ment finding one, spilt blood from a previous visitor left and walked in. Poor communication and worst thing was no anticoagulant after a bone break... I was lead to believe that France had quality healthcare, what a joke.... The first priority was evidence of insurance, this is a cash cow business, health is wealth for someone. Truly appalling.
Very bad. Ambulance personal is very nice but in the hospital very bad personal. My husband was brought in and for 5 hours we didn’t got any information. When I asked how he was doing they said 2 minutes when I asked again after 1 hour she said again 2 minutes. And 30 minutes later she ignored me. And send security to me and I had to wait outside. After 5 hours my husband came outside. Nobody told me what was happening g and if he was doing well. I never hope to come here again. And I hope that we in the Netherlands take better care of our tourists.
My wife had severe stomache pains so I took her to A&E (Urgence) on the Tuesday after a public holiday expecting a long wait. She was seen immediately and looked after in a thorough and very friendly manner. After several tests she was diagnosed with a kidney infection and provided with antibiotics. Despite the language barrier (whilst her French isn't bad it certainly does not extend to things medicinal) everything was clearly explained to her and she left the hospital with copious notes for her doctor and recommendations for her continuing treatment. I cannot praise the staff enough.
Absolutely disgusting. We had been in a car accident. All with injuries. We turned up and got told they wouldn’t see us. It wasn’t their problem. That’s what they said.
Very bad experience, ambulance brought me in after a fall, it was ages before I saw anyone, no one asked me about any medication i may take, left me for hours i had gravel in my hands and face no one cleaned it up, after 5 hours I left.
I tested the IRM procedures 'private) department of the Béziers hospital. Highly professional all the way, on time, smooth and friendly!
