Beautiful, free to enter and explore the expansive gardens, good informative signs. Very peaceful and quiet.

The gardens are exceptionally beautiful, with parts of it full of nice plants, a little greenhouse , and parts further away with a playground and forest all around. There are two ponds with swans and ducks. We managed to see a few rooms of the castle because of an exhibit, but we wish this wonderful castle was all open to visitors. There seemed to be a coffee shop but all was closed. Parking, entrance and toilets were all free.

Remarkable castle and garden. If you have extra time on your hands, there are many walking paths outside the castle, accessible from the back of the garden.

A picturesque Château in wonderful grounds. Perfect to while away a couple of hours before getting on the ferry home. There is a play area and picnic tables and it's just beautiful...and free.

Fabulous place to visit, especially if you get there early waiting for the ferry. We spent about two hours exploring the castle and gardens. It is all free. The part of the castle open to the public, which is an empty two storey internal space, apart from the Blue Room, was being used for an artist's exhibition. The gardens were lovely and there is a great playground for the children. A small café wouldn't go amiss, so you need to take your own snack and drink.

Nice castle and deep park around it to do a bit of walking. I also like how they've made up some parts for children to play. You can comfortably spend half a day just exploring the grounds. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to get to the towers but aside from that there's enough to do looking around.

Just the most lovely gardens and pretty chateau to look at all for free. Unfortunately they don't let you go inside. A decent early from the cruise terminal but fairly flat and easy. Worth it? Maybe not if you have something better to do, but if it's not the first visit to Cherbourg then why not grab a picnic
