Easy to find, unless you take the route that isnt up the colourful stairs and you feel like youre trespassing past houses that look like they were vacated around the same time as the fort, yet still have squatters in, whom by the way do not speak english but were LOVELY ans helped with directions.
Fort is named after Cépérou, a celebrated indigenous chief and was built in 1643 to protect the city of Cayenne. Required some easy uphill climbing to reach the fort. Good panoramic view of Cayenne Town. Free entry. Saw a family enjoying a picnic at site in Sunday afternoon.
From this spot, you can have a really nice view on the city of Cayenne and on the ocean! Perfect spot to chill and have a drink with friends or read a book alone or just meditate!
Nice views of the city. The fot itself is not so impressive. Nice murals
Walk by Escalier Coloré or just follow car route to the fort.
A small nice place with a panoramic view. Not much is written down about the history of the place but it has a nice atmosphere.
Nice place with a good view
Great views and a very informative display on the history of Cayenne and the interaction between the first European explorers until today.
