Lovely gardens--from somewhat formal to country trails to rock. Rebuilt from the medieval ruins of an Abbey, the garden is a mix of styles and plant types. The site overlooks the city of Avignon and is within Fort Saint-Andre but privately owned. Stop for a light lunch in the charming cafe. Say hi to the cat.

Les Jardinds st André, is a gem to visit . This is our 4th visit in 4 years we’ve been coming to Avignon. We opted for the garden tour and I must say the gardens are so well cared for we wasn’t disappointed, we could see the improvements made since our last visit , i believe there’s 3 gardeners tending to all the beautiful flowers , shrubs Etc inside the Fort Saint-André. Once inside you can learn all about the history of the Fort Saint-André there’s a room where you can sit and enjoy a video presentation . There’s a lot of stunning artwork on display too . Once you’ve enjoyed a walk around the gardens under the Fort there’s a little cafe where you can get refreshments and a bite to eat if you like . Has you walk around the fort you will some beautiful views looking over Avignon. There’s some relaxing chairs provided in the shade for you to admire the gardens and the views . Just at the entrance of the Fort Saint-André they’re some uneven cobble stones which I would say might be a a little tricky for the elderly visitors , but don’t let that put you off once inside you won’t be disappointed.

A really beautiful garden alongside the abbey. A lovely café in a cool spot at the bottom of the garden is a fabulous place to spend half an hour. Wonderful views over to Avignon. Lovely Lilly pools, olive groves and cactuses. Inside there are a few rooms which were displaying interesting artwork when we visited.

It's nice and the view is beautiful but I don't agree that the gardens are so "remarkable". The prices are very high. 7.50 for a child! One cafe inside. The food is delicious, the view is awesome. You pay the price))

Peaceful quiet gardens with excellent views on Avignon

Très belle surprise ce jardin est très beau pleins de style, d’endroit où se détendre, il a y même un café à l’intérieur c’est génial ! Un endroit paisible et soigné ☀️
