Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval is an unforgettable place with breathtaking mountain walls, countless waterfalls, and incredibly fresh air. The trails are well marked, the views change constantly, and the atmosphere feels peaceful and inspiring. A must-visit for nature lovers.
Amazing amazing place. You can see the majestic alps with dozens of waterfalls around you with beautiful cliffs. There are dozens of different hikes in the area which are easy and reveal amazing scenery. Must see when in the area.
If you are in Samoëns or Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, this place needs no introduction. The trail is flat most of the way, with a steeper but non-technical hike to the cave at the end. There are some paths in the woods with shade to escape the heat. Views are splendid, although many waterfalls seemed to have gotten smaller or completely dried up when we got here in July. Probably the busiest trail in this area, with good reason!
I can really recommend this place! It's absolutely beautiful. The surroundings are spectacular, with beautiful sights of mountains, waterfalls, and lots of green. I, myself, am not that fit (at all!), but there was a path good enough for beginners. It's available by wheelchair, but do notice that the ground is partially loose, so it's a bit difficult. There are parking spots near, for €7,- a day. The free parking is a long walk away. There are terasses for refreshments. It's a bit overpriced, but you have beautiful surroundings! The public restroom was dirty, and I would not recommend it! Also, it is not available by wheelchair. The giftshop does have a cleaner toilet, though! For the more experienced hiker, there is also a lot to explore.
Nice place, with dramatic landscape. An easy walk through the valley, with possibilities for more advanced hikes. Entry to the parking is 6EUR and it will bring you ~3 km closer to the valley.
One of the most beautiful hikes in the area, this family-friendly trail offers breathtaking views of the Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval. Waterfalls cascade down towering cliffs, and the lush valley floor makes for a wonderfully accessible adventure.
This is a stunningly beautiful hiking trail. A friend counted all the waterfalls but stopped after a hundred! Not too difficult for all ages except for a few spots where a hiking stick was appreciated for hopping over the rocks scattered about a stream.
One of the most beautiful hikes I've done around this area. Although it was tough to find a weekend with no rain, the place is really worthy. Must visit this place if you like feeling the nature. Several waterfalls are visible throughout the path that brings you to the end of the valley, so called "end of the world". The hike we did was circular and lasts a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes, with a slope of 400m at the very end.
