Their quirky sign, "Oui are open" drew us into this place a few months ago for a drink to check it out. We fell in love with the place. Since then, we've been back several times for breakfasts and dinners, staying at the gorgeous boutique hotel next to them, Chancellor on Currie. This has to be the most reasonably priced French restaurant we've been to. But that doesn't mean the quality of the food is compromised. Au contraire! The food is divine French all the way. Authentic and high quality. You can tell they cook with love! Their pastries are also delish and cooked on the premises. The staff are caring and friendly - great to have a bit of a chat with. Especially the Frenchies - the restaurant manager, Jessica and the young French gentleman whose name I don't know, desolee! And thank you so, so much for providing an excellent a la carte breakfast and no germy buffet, like a lot of places have. We'll be back, again and again and again. Merci bien!

I was on a work trip and found this restaurant through Google Maps — and I’m so glad I did. I would definitely recommend everyone to come here! What stood out the most was the service. Jessica was incredibly warm, attentive, and observant. She was there when I needed help, and that level of care made the whole experience even more memorable. Honestly, it meant even more than just the delicious food. I ordered the $57 set course, which came with an entrée, main, and dessert. The onion soup was one of the best I’ve ever had — absolutely comforting and healing on a rainy day. For the main, I had the duck confit. The duck was soft, juicy, and full of flavor. I don’t usually like carrots, but even the carrot mash on the side was surprisingly delicious! And the crème brûlée was the perfect ending — rich and flavorful without being overly sweet, just beautifully balanced. Such a lovely dining experience overall. I’ll definitely come back again if I’m in town!

Excellent value, fast service, well balanced flavours, good portion sizes, so overall it was a well presented and delicious meal. I ordered the main meal option of the “Bavette a L’echalote” which was a diced tender juicy flank steak topped with maitre d’hotel butter and a beef jus served with thick cut french fries and green salad mix. I always make room for dessert so I went with the “Rum and Raisin Pudding” a very rich and decadent treat served with a thin crispy French style wafer and a light vanilla cream. I look forward to dining again.

26/2/26 Went in for dinner and the reasturaunt had a older French vibe I got a French onion soup for entre which was delicious. I also got thinly Sliced steak with chips. The food was amazing. I also got a French martini which was good. The only downside was it was a long wait for food. But defiantly worth the wait. They also had a live singer.

Had breakfast at this lovely French bistro. The coffee was fantastic. I ordered the mushrooms on toast and they were just divine. The dish had a lovely balance of flavours - I’d definitely go back!

We had a lovely dinner here for my wife’s birthday. Excellent food, absolutely superb service and our wines were very nice, though we both feel a few more French wines by the glass would be nice. Great to see them supporting local wineries but a couple more French reds and a handful of French whites by the glass would be perfect. Atmosphere was very nice but slightly dimmer lighting would add warmth to the overall ambiance. Prices too, were very competitive in our view. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice French dining experience. We will definitely dine here again at some stage. Steve & Jo

This restaurant opens all day and has a breakfast, lunch and dinner options which caters for a variety of time periods, enabling a variety of different food depending on the time. We ordered The Bouillon (Poached eggs in chicken broth with soudough) and The Central Market (Eggs Benedict with crossaint). A small meal was warranted and these small meals offer sufficient serving sizes without making us feel too full and heavy and able to eat lunch at another restaurant a few hours later. Fabulous service, Kevin was lovely and knew his stuff and ensured we were well cared for. Food was sensational and cannot praise the duck liver parfait enough. Highly recommend
