I had dinner with this restaurant in Paris. The owner is really nice and receive a warm welcome. Their food is absolutely fabulous. I tried Maguro and special sashimi. Its taste seems like you stay in japan. Highly recommended this Japanese restaurant!! 💖
It has to be among the best sushi I have ever tried. The restaurant itself doesn’t look promising at all, but after hearing about this place for a while, I decided to try it. We went there at lunch time, it was not too busy, a perfect time to try it. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made the whole experience very pleasant. We decided to try their most famous sushi set - the nigiri sushi set. I have to say, the portions are huge. We also ordered the mix maki, which consisted in 12 pieces of freshly made maki rolls with multiple types of fish. The quality of the fish itself was top tier, and the amount of fish they used for each product was impressive. Definitely worth trying if you are a real sushi lover. I cannot wait to come back here and try more of their products. After I have seen the quality of their fish, the next one on my list is for sure the sashimi plate!
There are good Japanese restaurants in Paris, but there are few authentic Japanese restaurants that make you feel like you’re in the local area in Japan - and Koba is one of them. Generous amount, incredible quality, will definitely be my must-go place when I want to eat raw fish in Paris!
The hygiene at this restaurant is very very poor 🤮🤢 The menu page was sticky and disgusting but I have already ordered and had to eat I sat at the comptoir and I saw the most disgusting thing ever: the “chef” reused the leftover wasabi from other customers and put them back in a plastic box to be used for the new customer. It’s why the wasabi is oxyded. Of course he touched the wasabi with his hands. I read in another comment that they did the same with the leftover from the miso soup 😑 A sushi plate sat for more than 30 min in the kitchen to be served to a customer Everything is dirty and sticky, it’s a mess everywhere I really hope I don’t get good poisoning The plate was 19€ which is extremely expensive
This is my first time to visit Kona and his service is impressive . The fish is fresh and he has a sense of humor. I had a special sushi combo on a bank holiday. I ordered a take out sashimi . Guess what ? Kano asked me if I am take home the goodie to my husband or kids . Haha He gave me extra taro and big box of rice. I was thinking to get some rice in a store to make some sushi . He read my mind . Definitely will go back with friends . It’s an unusual spot. I saw the bad comment about the quality. I confirm the fish is fresh and the energy level is high in this humble place. What keeps Kabo happy to serve everyday ? Must be his regulars and friends keep coming. I took my friends to try again and they found Koba amazing and the sushi , sashimi so good. The ginger pork was a little small, koba accepted our request to top up. We visited the Karaoke and it’s pretty good . It’s €25 for two hours with a small sushi . We order tempura which is not on the menu for €15 and beer . There are a lot of English songs to choose and it took a while to know how to operate the machine
Generous portions, delicious sashimi, and fast service. However many of the surfaces were sticky/grimy, the fried chicken was dry and flavorless, there were a few flies and the sashimi was lacking in presentation.
Had takeaway sashimi, generous serving with sharp price, however fish cuts are not normal sashimi cuts, very chunky.. with fats from salmon not cut properly and tuna looking suspicious. Also from the other reviewers saying this is authentic Japanese.. this place is not Japanese but Thai /Chinese based on the workers speaking.. however the service and staff is very kind but not sure I would be back for the sushi
I do not usually post a comment for a restaurant (indeed, this is my first time ever!!). The presentation of the food is disgusting, and I have not had such a bad Japanese food in my life which is also the worst food ever in Paris. I am not sure if the sushi rolls that I ordered qualified as a sushi roll (refer to photo). I am so surprised this restaurant had more than 4 stars (I checked after I have seen the food). Seriously, this restaurant ruined my Paris trip.
