I have always been a huge admirer of Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe’s vision and Dover Street Market is usually a mandatory stop for me. I truly admire the architecture and the curation because it is always a true fashion experience. I had wonderful visits to the London and New York stores where I was always well received and made great purchases especially in NY where I discovered Edward Bess and his work. Even in Paris I had a great experience last October at the DSM Perfume Market where the service was excellent. Unfortunately the main Paris store is a complete letdown. As someone who has worked in fashion for over 10 years I was shocked by the lack of professionalism inside the boutique. I was completely ignored by the staff who preferred to give judgmental looks rather than assist a customer ready to shop. I am not sure if this is the intended service briefing for this specific location unlike the others but this blasé and haughty attitude in 2026 feels incredibly dated and tacky. It is a shame that such a beautiful space is ruined by this behavior and I will not be returning.
an amazing experience, it's like being in an art gallery! such a great selection of brands. i'm impressed by the current state of design of these clothes and also was funny to see the collab of ordinary and luxury brands together :)
There is no denying that Dover Street Market Paris is visually spectacular. The installation art and sculptures are magnificent, giving the space the feel of a contemporary art gallery rather than a retail store. The selection of clothing is also impeccable, as expected from the brand. However, for a place carrying such high-end pieces, the service and atmosphere leave much to be desired. While the staff are dressed in luxury garments, their attitude lacks the refinement one expects at this price point. With a few exceptions, the styling on many staff members feels forced—like an ill-fitting uniform rather than a genuine expression of fashion—creating a sense of dissonance. Furthermore, the layout feels somewhat unnatural, making the shopping journey less intuitive and slightly uncomfortable. Having visited the London and Tokyo locations, which masterfully balance coolness with hospitality, the Paris outpost feels lacking. It is a pity that such a beautiful space is compromised by these operational and service-level issues. I likely won’t be rushing back.
I just have to leave this review to counteract all of the negative reviews about the staff here. I had a great experience here and the staff were super welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It was fully on par with my experience at all of the other Dover Street locations. So definitely go in, wander through the crazy labyrinth and enjoy!
Very specific clothes and quite limited selection. A big disappointment to see that many designer items are made of polyester or other synthetic materials and are priced above 500 Euro for an item.
A unique store, worth visiting to see how they designed the building's spaces.
What a stunning store and shopping experience. Beautiful layout and a great selection of brands. All the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Bought so many unique pieces which I love. Poyu helped me get the items I wanted as was looking for particular styles. Service was beyond outstanding. My go to store in Paris.....💜
A good curation of design products. The place feels a bit like a labyrinth, and at every corner there seems to be a salesperson looking you up and down with heavy judgment. When I asked about the pieces, they made no effort to help. Please train your staff better.
