Avis
I stayed at St Christopher's Inn Paris and while the service was great, my overall experience was disappointing. There was very little consideration for other guests in the room. While some people were trying to sleep, others were making noise—eating and even brushing their teeth inside the room. Having a sink in the room itself turned out to be very inconvenient and disruptive.Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep at all. I understand that this is a budget hostel and you get what you pay for, but this was the first time I’ve had such a negative experience staying in a hostel. Usually, things are fine—but this one is a no from me.
I’d really love to give this property a positive review but I can’t. The location was great and I thought the rooms were good value for money however the discovery of bed bugs mean that my stay was completely ruined. ||I discovered bed bugs at around 3am (room 411) and went straight to reception. The lady at reception didn’t seem surprised at all and changed me to a different room. I immediately wanted to take a shower as I felt itchy and disgusting but the shower only had cold water however I had to use this as I just felt so disgusting!||I emailed the hotel to complain (with the email provided by reception) as I was asked to do and sent the photos and videos of the bed bugs however almost a week later, I still haven’t even had an acknowledgment. I was also meant to be having a refund processed but I also haven’t heard anything on this at all! ||I didn’t want to leave this review but feel like I’ve been left no choice as I don’t know what steps the property are taking to resolve the bed bug issue!||I counted 6 in total on top of the duvet/towels but I didn’t check inside the bed so I’m unsure how many there were. They did vary in size from tiny little cream/white creatures all the way to just over half a cm in length. The next day I discovered I had bites on my arm, face, thigh and base of my bum too! These bites were consistent with a bed bugs however pattern according to google AI.||It’s a real shame as I was already planning on coming back later in the year before I discovered the issue. I hope they can resolve this ASAP as this hotel is in a prime location
Good location and kind staff. This is the only perk. Although the beds are nice, the rooms are crowded and extremely hot. Do not come here in the summer, you will not sleep because the rooms trap heat and if you open a window you will hear the loud noise of whatever is going on in the bar downstairs. For the price, there should absolutely be it rly be some sort of cooling system in the room. Below average experience, will not be back.
For a couple of nights this hostel was good. Pros - near the station, easy access to the city centre - lovely & helpful staff on reception - privacy curtains on the bed - crates under the bed to store your belongings Cons - my room was above the bar, so it was very noisy even on a weekday, however earplugs fixed this problem! - no air con, it got quite hot especially on the top bunks It’s a good budget hostel in a convenient location with friendly staff. As a solo female traveller I felt safe there.
The location of St Christopher's Inn is excellent and convenient for exploring the city. Unfortunately, my experience was seriously affected by poor service and a lack of respect for guests. During the night, staff entered the dorm and woke us up to check bed cards, which was disruptive and unnecessary. Even more concerning, a guest's belongings were removed from the room without their consent, causing stress and confusion. The situation delayed me so much that I was almost late for my Normandy day trip. In addition, there was sometimes no hot water, and the charging station was not working which made the stay even more uncomfortable. While the location is great, management needs to improve guest communication, respect for personal belongings, and basic facilities. I cannot recommend this hostel based on my experience. Not good value for your money.
Unfortunately, this hostel was a disappointing experience. The elevator does not work, so you often have to climb up to the 4th floor. Sometimes it works, but when you want to go down, it’s basically a matter of luck. The shared bathroom for the whole floor is very limited: only one toilet and one shower. The water pressure is extremely slow, and the water is never really hot. It’s technically warm, but it feels more cold than hot, which is very uncomfortable. The beds themselves are comfortable, but the pillows are almost nonexistent — they are extremely thin and offer no support at all. What I found really unacceptable is the luggage policy. Even if you have already booked and stayed with them, you have to pay 8€ for 24 hours or 2€ per hour just to leave your luggage. That is really disappointing. Overall, I do not recommend this hostel.
The WORST hostel I have ever stayed in! Room 609F. The bed was dirty and looked like it had already been used. The night receptionist said it couldn't be changed. The charging port and light didn't work, so I couldn't charge my phone overnight. The lockers are extremely noisy and cannot even be locked. The shower is tiny, dirty, and located inside the room, so every shower wakes everyone up. To top it off, one side of my bed had no comforter.
The location is superb, right around the corner from the metro and train station. The 10th is a nice area in general and easy to walk around. The hostel has a large bar with lots of seating but it’s kind of hard to meet people outside of those who you’re sharing a room with. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can order food at the bar too, if you want.
